Exhibition Background of China Roofing & Waterproofing '2005

In the summer of 2004, the 2nd China International Exhibition for Roofing and Waterproofing Technology was successfully held in Beijing. Covering an exhibition area of 5,500 sqm2, this event has attracted more than 160 roofing/waterproofing companies from 17 countries and areas. All the 280 booths were registered 1 month before its opening. The visiting groups from National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), the Central Association of German Roofing Contractors (GRCA), European Bitumen Shingles Organization (EBSO) and Japan Roofing Contractors Association (JRCA) attended the exhibition with great interest.

China R&W 2004 exceeded the last one in both scale and effect. Booths of diversified styles, elaborate brochures and a large number of enthusiastic visitors, all these were combined to have created the most favored exhibition in the waterproofing industry of China. The event gathered many famous roofing and waterproofing companies from home and abroad using this occasion to enhance image, showcase competitiveness and seek business opportunities. With its extensive influence and great benefits, China Roofing & Waterproofing exhibition plays an active role in promoting the development of the industry and regulating the market order through setting up a platform for exchanges between China and other countries.

In recent years, Chinese economy has increased continuously and rapidly. Shanghai, a most vital city in Asia, plays a leading role in China's economic development. GDP created by Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone, in which Shanghai is a center, covers more than one fifth of the GDP of the whole country. In 2003, Shanghai's whole society fixed assets investment reached 30 billion USD, total output of construction industry 12 billion USD and floor space completed for housing 23 million sqm2. With starting and implementation of the 2010 Shanghai's Expo projects, Shanghai will surely gain new impetus.

The design and materials selection for the Expo projects will start in an all- round way in the year 2005.
